In late September, the Senate Energy and Public Works Committee will introduce comprehensive legislation to combat global warming. The United States Senate needs to pass a global warming bill before the next phase of Climate Negotiations in Copenhagen to enable a global climate deal in 2009. 

That same week the leaders of the G20 will meet in Pittsburgh to discuss a global climate treaty – this meeting is likely to be a precursor to the talks in Copenhagen.  The environmental community is planning a series of events to build public momentum around a strong global warming bill– among these is a national campus call-in day on Thursday September 24.
