We support President Obama's plan giving us affordable choices for health care, including a public health insurance option. We don't want the debate to become mired in petty politics. This is a historic debate, and we want results, not grandstanding.

Please fight for, and vote in favor of, a plan that will:

1. Give Americans who want better coverage the option of a quality public health insurance plan.
2. Stop insurance companies from discriminating against people with pre-existing conditions.
3. Cut costs by reducing red tape and overhead through simplified insurance forms, information technology and insurer-efficiency standards.
4. Give our doctors the most up-to-date information on which treatments and medicines work best.
