Stop Irresponsible Credit Card Marketing on Campus:
Tell Us Your Story

If you are coming from the site of the new documentary on credit cards, Maxed Out, welcome. We're working with the producer/director of Maxed Out and other student and consumer advocates to do something about the credit card problems identified in the movie and in our own research.

Carrying a credit card is practically a necessity these days for young adults. One-quarter of students report using credit cards to pay for the cost of books and tuition. Students should get the credit they deserve, but they pay more than they bargained for. Irresponsible credit card companies pile the debt on young adults.

Recently, the Senate Banking Committee held a hearing to learn what's going on with credit card marketing. They want to know what the story is - and so do we. To make our case that irresponsible credit card marketing on campus must be reined in, we need to hear your story.

Tell us about the unfair conditions and terms you face with your card; the freebies used to entice you into a deal; and any usurious or predatory practices you have encountered. Just fill out the form below.

Tell Us Your Personal Story
We also want to know what campus you attend(ed) and which credit card company or bank was the culprit. And if you're willing, we might contact you to take action and speak in more detail about your situation.
